Barbara Alice Bryan Emrick was born on June 28, 1931 and passed away Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Cabrini Medical Center. She was a graduate of Ferriday High School where she enjoyed softball and basketball. She went on to work at JC Penney in Natchez until the birth of her only child, Allyson. Alice loved to sing in the choir and served many years in the church where she was a hostess and Sunday school teacher. When she was younger, she would even make floral arrangements and decorate for the church. She loved the Lord with all her heart, inspiring a child-like appreciation for the holidays and lights, especially Christmas. Her greatest joy was spending time with her grandsons and great grandchildren, who dearly loved their Gran.

She is reunited with her father, Willie Bryan, mother, Josephine Louise Bryan, sister, Inez Swayze, brother, Bill Bryan, sister, Gladys Wiley, brother, Johnny Bryan, sister, Margie Bryan, sister, Lorraine Austin, brother, Ernest Bryan, sister, Agnes Bryan, sister, Agatha Pate, sister, Elaine Walker, and brother, Wilfred Bryan.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Bobby Ray Emrick of Wildsville, LA, daughter, Allyson & Luke Lensing of West Monroe, LA, grandson, Jacob & Casey L. Lensing, of Sunset, LA, grandson, Bryan & Chelsea H. Lensing, of West Monroe, LA, brother, Jack & Ettalee Bryan, of Baker, LA, great grandsons, Brayden, Barrett, Bennett, and Maddox Lensing, special niece, Lana Carr, and special niece, Betty Burnett.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Lensing, Kenneth Austin, Bryan Lensing, Andy Bryan, Sidney Austin, and Micah Taunton.

Honorary Pallbearers will be the Deacons of Evangeline Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to the Evangeline Baptist Church Cemetery fund.
