Betty Arnold Maxwell, 91, passed away peacefully at Natchez Healthcare in Natchez, Mississippi, on
Friday, May 5th, 2023. Betty was born May 21, 1931, to Earl “Bug” Arnold and Irene Cammack
Arnold of Fayette Mississippi.
Betty was a loving wife to her husband Willie and mother to her two sons. Betty always loved the
idea of traveling when ever possible. Her adventurous nature lead her to New Mexico as a newly
wed in her 20’s, several years in Iowa to enjoy the snow, back to Natchez and Jackson MS. Betty
was talented at handling many of life’s challenges. Her endurance was one of her qualities that
helped served her throughout her life and help those around her to press on through difficult times.
Betty was always supportive and courageous regardless of life’s hurdles.
Betty is survived by one son, Ronald Maxwell and wife, Cindy, of Santa Rosa Beach, Florida; and
daughter in-law Beanie Maxwell of Natchez, Mississippi. Betty was known as “MeMaw” to her two
grand children Margaret Maxwell Feldmann and William Maxwell. As well as her two great grand
children; Sylvia Feldmann and Maxwell Feldmann. She also leaves behind two sisters: Bobbie
Detterick and Anna Atherton. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; son, Dr. Rick Maxwell;
brother, Mack Arnold; and sisters, Sunny Ainsworth and Becky Pritchard.
