Funeral services for Mrs. Betty Posey, 76, of Sicily Island, will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2020, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Pine Hill Baptist Church, with Bro. Harold “Bubba” Tucker and Bro. Chase Weeks officiating. Burial will follow in New Pine Hill Cemetery under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home-Ferriday, LA.

Mrs. Posey was born on November 10, 1943 in Wisner, LA to the union of Lee Roy Weeks and Lela Cain Weeks, and passed from this life on July 6, 2020 in Jackson, MS. Mrs. Posey was a member of Pine Hill Baptist Church, taught Sunday school and worked with the youth. She is preceded in death by her parents; and sons, Aaron Brown and Trent Brown.

She is survived by her husband, John “Sonny” Posey of Sicily Island; step-sons, Shawn Posey, Stacy Posey, and Fred Posey, all of Baton Rouge, LA; daughter-in-law, Becky Posey of St. Francisville, LA; grandchildren, Claudia Posey of Baton Rouge, LA and Maddie Beth Posey of St. Francisville, LA; and special friend, Jean Vines of Sicily Island. She also leaves behind a host of friends and family.

Pallbearers to honor Mrs. Betty Posey will be Stacy Posey, Shawn Posey, Ricky Bryan, Kenny Coward, Walter Meyers, and Aubrey Posey. The Gideons International will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday, July 9, 2020 from 12:00 PM – 2:00 PM at the church.
