Funeral services for Betty Sue Smith, 85 of Jonesville, LA will be held at Utility Baptist Church in Jonesville on Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at 11:00 AM with Bro. James Foster and Bro. Dustin Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Locust Grove Cemetery, Jonesville, LA, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home - Jonesville.

Betty Sue Smith was born on Friday, April 30, 1937, in Ethel, MS and passed away Saturday, December 17, 2022 in Alexandria, LA. She was a hard-working farmer who, along with her husband Jack, founded Smith’s Pecan Orchard south of Jonesville. She also served as a board member of the LA Pecan Grower’s Association. She was a member of Utility Baptist Church and enjoyed fellowship with her WMU group. She loved her family dearly and was a quick-witted character.

She is preceded in death by her father, Luther Lee Everett Sr.; mother, Jessie Mann Everett; husband, Jack Smith; husband, A.U. Smith; two brothers, Luther Lee Everett Jr. and Bobby Joe Everett and two sisters, Billie Thrower and Linda Lewis.

Betty leaves behind her daughters, Barbara Hall and her husband Ross of Brandon, MS, Brenda S Sikes of Jonesville, LA and Edna Mayor and her husband Gary of Clinton, MS; sisters, Murlee Wilbanks of Jena, LA, Shirley Gates and her husband Alfred of Bremerton, WA, Janice Booth of Canby, OR and Beverly Carrick of Canby, OR; four grandsons, Garrett Fairbanks, T-Jack Davis, Jackson Mayor and Bo Mayor and five granddaughters, Marla Hand, Toni Davis Scott, Grace Crespo, Sara Mayor and Elise Mayor. She is also survived by twelve great-grandchildren, Chandler, Jacob, Natalie, Tyler, Jack Layton, Leah, Elena, McKenneth, Abel, Charli, Ben, and Ruby.

Those honoring Betty as pallbearers will be Garrett Fairbanks, Jacob Thompson, T-Jack Davis, Jack Layton Davis, Bo Mayor, Daniel Crespo, and Austin Hardie
