Obituary for Bobby Rogers

Memorial services for Robert “Bobby” Terry Rogers, 71 of Monterey, LA will be held at Monterey First Baptist Church on Saturday March 20, 2021 at 2 PM with Bro. Tony Ganey and Bro. John Rushing officiating.

Bobby was born on August 12, 1949 in Ferriday, LA and passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Columns Nursing Home in Jonesville, LA. He was a resident of Monterey and a member of Evangeline Baptist Church in Wildsville, LA. Bobby loved his family and his friends as well as getting out and mowing their grass for them. He was a long haul truck driver and got to see a lot of the country he fought for. He was an Army veteran and served our country proudly in the Vietnam War. Bobby was such a generous man, he would give you the shirt off his back, even the truck out of his driveway. He will be greatly missed by those who loved him.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ruben and Colleen Rogers and his sister, Shirley McCall.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Courtney Rogers of Wildsville, La; brother, Jake Rogers and his wife Juanita of Monterey, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, and in-laws.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Don Enlow, Albert Homer Carter, Woody Smith, Rick Asken and Russell Smith.

The family will receive friends at Monterey First Baptist Church on Saturday March 20th from 1 PM until 2 PM service time.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Gideons International.
