Funeral services for Buster Brown Reed, 88, of Jonesville, LA will be held at Utility Baptist Church in Jonesville on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at 10AM with Bro. Dusty Robertson and James Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Palo Alto Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Buster was born on Sunday, December 10, 1933 in Savannah, TN and passed away Sunday, December 12, 2021 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He loved everyone and never met a stranger. Buster was a loving husbnad, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and friend. He will dearly be missed by everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Miller Reed and Cally Humpherey Reed; two sons, Kevin Reed and Jimmy Reed; and 11 siblings.
Buster leaves behind his wife of 67 years, Dorothy Faye Cecil Reed of Jonesville, LA; son, Ricky Reed of Jonesville, LA; two grandsons, Kendall Reed & his wife Christina of Jonesville, LA and Derrick Bar & his wife Latonya of Deville, LA; and four great-grandchildren, Chanler, Malachi, Melody, and Isabella.
Those honoring Buster as pallbearers are Sidney Smith, Chanler Reed, Kendall Reed, Shannon Parker, Tommy Dunn, Jr. and Scott Davis.
Honorary pallbearers will be late Denny Lewis, late Jay Curtis, and the Men of Utility Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends at Utility Baptist Church on Tuesday, December 14, 2021 from 5PM until 11PM.
