Memorial services for Carroll "Tex" Alan Martin, 75 of Harrisonburg, LA will be held at a later date.
"Tex" was born on Sunday, October 06, 1946 in Jena, LA. and passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at St Francis Medical Center in Alexandria, LA.
Mr. Martin proudly served his Country in the United State Marine Corp as a Field Medic during the Vietnam War where he was a two-time recipient of the Purple Heart. After serving in the Marines, Mr. Martin worked for the U. S Department of State as an Embassy Procurement Officer. He was an avid hunter, loved gardening, crossword puzzles, nature, and spending time with his family.
He was preceded in death by
Father- Gilbert Sidney Martin
Mother- Lois Elaine Creel Martin Merten
Brother- Rocky Hardy Martin
Sister- Lucy Marie Merten Lindsay
He is survived by
Wife- Sandra Dupre’ Martin of Harrisonburg, LA
4 Sons- Bryan Martin, Brad Martin, Jeb Bellard and Jarrod Bellard
4 Brothers- Sidney Creel, Troy Sidney Martin, Elvis Martin and Terry John Martin
Sister- Helen Merten Barlow
2 Grandsons- David Alan Martin and Jayden P. Bellard
He is also survived by 3 Special Cousins who he considered as siblings, Amy Huffman Barron, Beth Ann Huffman Willis and Benji Huffman.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials be made to Vietnam Disabled Veterans of America.
