Obituary for Cecil McGuffee Jr.

A celebration his life for Cecil Clyde McGuffee, Jr. 67, of Harrisonburg, Louisiana who died on February 1, 2022 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana will be 2:00 PM on Friday Feburary 4th at New Ouachita Baptist Church with Bro. James King officiating. Burial will follow at Rosefield Cemetery with a Masonic graveside service, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 3, 2022, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for friends at Young’s Funeral Home in Jonesville, LA. Visitation for Friday, February 4, 2022

Clyde was born on May 14, 1954 in Harrisonburg, Louisiana, to Cecil Clyde McGuffee, Sr., and Irene Worley McGuffee of Enterprise, Louisiana. He was a lifelong resident of Catahoula Parish. After graduating from Enterprise High School in 1972, he enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served his country for four years as an air traffic controller. Clyde worked as a licensed riverboat pilot for over thirty years, navigating rivers from the Ohio to the intercoastal canals along the Texas and Louisiana coastlines.

Clyde was a proud family man, married to Cindy Nichols McGuffee on March 6, 1982. He and Cindy were blessed with two daughters, Jennifer (Jenny) McGuffee Floyd and Emily McGuffee Keith. Clyde was a kind and compassionate husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Clyde accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age and was a member of New Ouachita Baptist Church in Enterprise, Louisiana.

Clyde is preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Irene.

He is survived by his wife of almost forty years, Cindy; his daughter Jenny and her husband, Toby Floyd, and his daughter Emily and her husband, Ted Keith; his grandsons, Zachary Floyd and Avery Floyd, and his granddaughter, Lainey Keith; his sister Velma McGuffee Butler and brother-in-law, Gary Butler, and his sister Rachel McGuffee Breithaupt and brother-in-law, Craig Breithaupt; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Serving as pallbearers will be his sons-in-law, Toby Floyd and Ted Keith, and his nephews, Chris Butler, Ben Breithaupt, Chas Nichols, and Alex Martinez.
