Funeral services for Charlie Myrle Waters, 74, of Tensas Parish, LA will be held at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at 2PM with Kenneth Waters, Jr. officiating. Graveside service will be held at Oak Grove Cemetery in Star City, AR on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at 2PM with Bro. Lewis Hinkle officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Charlie was born on Tuesday, June 08, 1948 in Ferriday, LA and passed away Monday, May 22, 2023 in Shreveport, LA. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. Charlie was an avid hunter and fisherman, and won many fishing tournaments. He also loved singing and playing guitar with his family and friends. Charlie loved his children and family with all of his heart.
He is reunited with his parents, Charlie Sanford Waters and Lucille Rowland Waters; paternal grandparents, Bart Waters and Elva Payton Waters; and maternal grandmother, Emma Steeples.
Charlie leaves behind his daughters, Shannen Jackson & her husband David, Brandi Waters, and Tracie Cook & her husband Austin; son, Dustin Turner & his wife Pamela; grandchildren, Riley, Jace, Haleigh, Cole, Gabrielle, Whitney, Tatum, Destiny, Houston, Harvey, and Hazel; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Kenny Waters & his wife Karen and William Waters & his wife Serrina; sisters, Charlene Kinney & her husband Joe and Karen Hargis; and many nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Those honoring Charlie as pallbearers will be Robert Evans, Joe Kinney, Carter Craft, Matt Kinney, Kenny Waters, and Clay Hale.
Honorary pallbearers are Houston Murphy, Harvey Upchurch, Ethan Craft, and Jace Crehan.
The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday, LA on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 from 12noon until service time at 2PM.
