Obituary for Cheryl Crouch
Funeral services for Cheryl Lea Crouch will be Friday, June 26, 2020 at 10:00 AM at Eva Church of God with interment to follow at Crouch Cemetery. Visitation will be from 8:00 AM until service time, all under the direction of Young’s Funeral Home-Ferriday, LA.
Cheryl was born August 1, 1950 to Doris Tiffee Crouch and Amos Crouch. She was the fourth of five children which included her sisters, Amy Lou Crouch and Gayle Crouch, and her brothers, Roddie Crouch and Tommy Crouch. She attended Monterey High School then went on to attend college to a Master’s plus 30 degree in Education. She taught at Ferriday High School, Monterey High School, and Glen Rose High School in her 20 years of teaching. After retirement, she worked in the defense industry in Kuwait for 10 years and for a Wisconsin based company for the last 2 years to her death.
She was preceded in death by her mother Doris, father Amos, and sister Amy Lou.
She is survived by her daughter Alicia Henness, son-in-law Charles Henness, and granddaughter Hailey; her son Toby Wall, daughter-in- law Teresa Wall; sister Gayle Simonton; niece Leigha Horan and husband David Horan, great nieces and nephew Ainsley, Leighton, and Tom Horan; brother Roddie Crouch and wife Carla Crouch; and brother Tommy Crouch.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, she is remembered by donations to Ferst Readers in memory of her years of service to the education field and her love of sharing the joy of reading with students and family. Their website is https://ferstreaders.org/
