Sonny was a handyman who could do most anything. In his lifetime he was an oilfield worker, farmer, and fisherman. He excelled as a carpenter and millwright. His most recent job was deputy sheriff for Concordia Parish where he spent his days with trustees and was a source of inspiration and encouragement to many. He set a great example.
He was a man of great character and unwavering faith. He will be remembered for his big heart, contagious smile, and sense of humor. He had the best laugh and even had a smile on his last day. He enjoyed visiting, listening to music, and fellowshipping with his many friends and relatives. He was devoted to his kids and grandkids, loved his dogs and truly cherished his wife of 61 years. He served his church well, where was a deacon, sang in the choir, was active in the men's prayer breakfast and worked with the children and youth.
Keeping his family together was important to him, and he looked forward to gathering with his brothers and sisters down on the river every year and telling stories of the past.
