Obituary for Edith Finley
Graveside service for Edith Lance Finley, 81, of Monterey, LA will be held at Lone Pine Cemetery in Eva, LA on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at 2PM with Rev. Joel Ford officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family asks that all attendees please wear a mask.
Edith was born on Monday, January 15, 1940 in Mena, AR and passed away Sunday, January 31, 2021 at her home in Independence, LA. She was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother, and friend. Edith worked in her gardens and in the fields, She was always on the go, doing any and everything around the house.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Oscar Finley; and parents, William Rufus Lance and Dorothy Robnett Lance.
Edith leaves behind her daughter, Barbara Finley & her husband Karl Landry of Independence, LA; son, Jeff Finley of Thibodaux, LA; five grandchildren, Gary Frith of Baton Rouge, LA, Perry Frith of Denham Springs, LA, Kirsten Haymon & her wife Randi of Prairieville, LA, Sara Campuzano & her husband George of Central, LA, and Kane Finley of Denham Springs, LA; four great-grandchildren, Remy, Presley, Pason, and Asher; three brothers, Darrell Lance & his wife Glenda of St. Joe, LA, Donnie Lance & his wife Rita of Ferriday, LA, Roy Lance & his wife Rhonda of St. Joe; and four sisters, Rita Easterling & her husband Bobby of Ridgecrest, LA, Betty Slaughter & her husband Robert of St. Joe, LA, Debbie Ford & her husband Paul of Sandy Lake, LA, and Cindy Tucker & her husband Ray of Newellton.
Pallbearers will be Jared Tucker, Dustin Lance, Robbie Slaughter, Kane Finley, George Campuzano, and Joel Ford, Jr.
