Obituary for James Gayle
A memorial service for James Dewitt “Jim” Gayle, Sr., 83, of Ferriday, LA will be held Saturday, May 29, 2021 at Mr. Calvary Presbyterian Church in Clay, Alabama at 1 pm.

He was born in Ferriday, LA February 21, 1938 and passed away in Ferriday on May 18, 2021. He was a
graduate of Ferriday High School in 1956. He enjoyed genealogy, reading WWII history and spending
time with his family. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps from 1956-1959.
Mr. Gayle was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Dewitt and Maude Louise Gayle, brother,
Charles Jerry Gayle and wife, Lois Everett Gayle.
He is survived by his son, Dewitt Gayle, daughter, Chandra Ferguson, son, Martin Gayle, son, David
Collie, brother, Sam Gayle, ten grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
