Obituary for James Neal

Funeral services for James Michael Neal, 54 of Jonesville, LA will be held at Oak Grove Free Methodist Church in Sandy Lake at 3578 LA-923, Jonesville, LA 71343 on Monday, March 18, 2024 at 10AM with Bro. Aaron Jolly officiating. Interment will follow at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, LA under the direction of Young's Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at Oak Grove Free Methodist Church on Sunday, March 17, 2024 from 5PM until its time to go home.

Michael was born on Thursday, November 20, 1969 in Natchez, MS. and passed away Friday, March 15, 2024 in Alexandria, LA. He was a resident of Jonesville, LA and a cherished friend. At 54, his legacy resonates with courage and versatility. A dedicated member of the Army National Guard, he embodied resilience in service. As a correctional officer, his commitment to justice was unwavering. Yet, his talents extended far beyond, as a gifted cosmetologist and interior designer, infusing beauty into every aspect of life. Despite battling cancer, Michael seized each moment with unparalleled zest, embracing travel and adventure. His love for cruises and exploration reflected his passion for living fully. Michael leaves behind so many memories woven with laughter, kindness, and inspiration. May his spirit continue to guide and uplift us.

He was preceded in death by father, James "Smooth" Neal, infant sister, Karen Neal and his grandparents, Wonnie and Neva Ford, and David and Biela Neal.

Those left to cherish his memory are mother, Glenda Ford Neal, his furry son Nicholas "Nicky", brother, Gary Neal (Kala), brother, Tim Neal (Laine); nieces and nephews, Kalip Matthew, Lessie Claire, Sarah and Austin and a host of family and friends.

Those honoring Michael as pallbearers will be Aub. Ford, J.R. Neal, Kyle Neal, Payne Hardy, Chad Morris, and Scott Stanford.

Honorary pallbearers will be the clients he made through the years that became more like family and the numerous great friends that Michael made through the years.
