Obituary for Jason Tyson

Funeral services for Jason Glen Tyson, 43 of Ferriday, LA will be held at Pentecostals of the Miss Lou on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at 4:00 PM with Bishop Gary Howington and Bro. Jeremy Howington officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Jason Glen Tyson was born on Monday, July 28, 1980 in Natchez, MS. and passed away Monday, March 18, 2024 in Ferriday, LA . His adventurous spirit and zest for life touched the hearts of all who knew him. At the age of 43, Jason left this world, leaving behind a legacy of love, laughter, and unforgettable memories.

Jason's passion for the great outdoors and travling was unmatched. Whether he was building a fire under the stars, traversing rugged trails, or paddling along tranquil waters, he found solace and joy in the embrace of nature. His love for camping, hiking, and kayaking was only surpassed by his insatiable wanderlust. These things were not just a joy for him, but a way to spend time and make memories with his family, as well with his dog Walker.


For the ones that knew him we can't forget about his love for all things tiny. But above all else, Jason cherished his time spent with family, especially his grandchildren. He was a pillar of strength and wisdom, always ready with a listening ear and a comforting embrace. He was always there to let you know just how much he loved you and how proud he was of you, Jason's love knew no bounds.

As we bid farewell to Jason, let us take comfort in the memories we shared and the love that will forever remain in our hearts. Though his earthly journey may have come to an end, his spirit will live on in the laughter of his grandchildren, the beauty of the places he explored, and the love he shared with all who knew him. Jason will be dearly missed and fondly remembered as a devoted family man, an intrepid explorer, and a cherished friend.

He was preceded in death by his father, Tommy Tyson; maternal grandparents, Virgil and Sarah Maples and paternal grandparents, Ray and Faye Tyson.

Those left to cherish Jason's memories are his wife, Stephanie Tyson of Ferriday, LA; sons, Bryan Russ of Biloxi, MS and Koen Tyson of Ferriday, LA; daughters, Carla Lee and her husband Caleb of Vidalia, LA and Madison Tyson of Vidalia, LA; grandson, Tucker Wells; granddaughter- Paisley Lee; mother, Mary Maples Tyson of Natchez, MS; sister, Olivia Smith and her husband Bobby of Oceans Springs, MS; three nieces, Shelby Sanders, Kamryn Smith and Lauren Smith and nephew, Jordan Sanders.

Those honoring Jason as pallbearers will be Cade Wells, Chad Campbell, Jordan Sanders, Emmett Scott, Barry Scott, Blake Scott and Bubba Scott.

Honorary Pallbearers will be Koen Tyson, Matt Bonsall, Caleb Lee, Bryan Russ, Kimberly Bass, Jerry Myers and Bobby Smith.
