Funeral services for Jerry Wayne Franklin, 70, of Ridgecrest, LA will be held at Young's Funeral Home-Ferriday on Friday, July 7, 2023 at 10AM with Bro. Ronald Hall and Bro. Clayton Kelly officiating. Interment will follow at Heard Cemetery in Manifest, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Jerry was born on Monday, November 27, 1952 in Jonesville, LA and passed away Monday, July 03, 2023 in Alexandria, LA. He truly was a sweet and kind soul, he looked at everyone the same, and would help anyone in need. He had nicknames for everyone he knew, whether you liked it or not. Jerry had a personality that could keep everyone around him laughing and smiling. He made sure everyone enjoyed life. Jerry was a tough old bird, everything he was enduring he kept everyone laughing and with a smile on their face, even his nurses. He loved his family and spending time with them, especially his daughter, Jamie. Jerry was one of a kind and there will never be another Jerry Wayne Franklin.

He is reunited with his parents, Bobby Chester Franklin and Bernice Hamilton Floyd and brother, Daniel Franklin.

Those left to cherish Jerry's memories are his daughter, Jamie Lynn Harrison of Ridgecrest, LA; special niece, more like a bonus daughter, Denise Franklin of Montgomery AL; grandson, Jestin Shane Harrison of Alexandria, LA; best friend, Ruth Ann Greer of Ridgecrest, LA; siblings, Darlene Weatherly of Vidalia, LA, Betty Parker of Vidalia, LA, Bobby Franklin of Ridgecrest, LA, and Lahomia Burr of Grayson, LA; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Those honoring Jerry as pallbearers will be Edward "Buckwheat" Leon Franklin, Bobby Charles Beach, Devin Cupstid, Trey Weatherly, Jeremy Montgomery, Michael Franklin.

The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home-Ferriday on Thursday, July 6, 2023 from 6PM until 8PM.
