Graveside service for Kenneth "Alex" Alexander McDonell, 78, of Saint Joseph, LA will be Friday, August 12, 2022 at Northeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Rayville, LA, at 2 pm, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Kenneth Alexander McDonell was born on Wednesday, September 1, 1943 in Juneau, Alaska and passed away Saturday, August 6, 2022 at University of Mississippi Medical Center. He was a loving husband, father and brother. Alex joined the Navy after graduating from high school. He served as a medic in the Navy and was honorably discharged September 26, 1969.

Alex was preceded in death by his parents, Maurice Fraser McDonell and Mary E. Crampton McDonell; and his older brother, Maurice F. McDonell, Jr.

Alex is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Redditt McDonell; his son, Justin Spencer McDonell, two stepchildren, John Ratcliff and Beth Batey and sisters, Maurine McDonell and Marian McDonell. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
