Obituary for Leeon Oglesby Cassels

Funeral services for Leeon Oglesby Cassels, 87 of Ferriday, LA will be held at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday on Monday, August 14, 2023 at 12noon with Bro. Stan Wyant and Bro. Jeff Wyant officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery in Grayson, LA, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Leeon was born on Monday, March 16, 1936 in Central City, KY to Glendle William Oglesby and Cleo Hall Oglesby and passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2023 in Ferriday, LA. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and so much more. Leeon will be missed by everyone who knew her.

She is reunited with her husband, Curtis Isaac Cassels; parents; son, Gregory Dean Cassels; daughter, Tina Ellis; brothers, Darrell Oglesby and James Oglesby; and sisters, Shirley Wyant and Frances Joines.

Those left behind to cherish Mrs. Leeons' memories are her daughters, Paulette Cassels and Deborah Wynn & her husband Guy; son-in-law, Rick Ellis; special niece, Linda Gail Cassels; brother, Robert Oglesby & his wife Lorraine; sisters and brothers-in-law, Audrey Chaffers, Aubrey Cassels & his wife Clara, and Ruth Abrams & her husband Bob; sister-in-law, Rosanna Oglesby; grandchildren, Jennifer Bryant, Samantha Toland, Karen Snow & her husband Brannon, Justin Wynn & his wife Sheena, Joshua Wynn, Jessica Clack & her husband Jason, and Jay Wynn & his wife Kristin; great-grandchildren, Tristan Bryant, Isaac Toland-Norman, Spencer and Daxtor Snow, Emily, Mason, Brody, and Harper Wynn, Jackson and Jillian Clack, and Penelope Wynn; and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Those honoring Leeon as pallbearers are Tony Wyant, Bill Wyant, Jeff Wyant, Steve Wyant, Rick Ellis, and Brannon Snow.

Honorary pallbearers will be Guy Wynn, David Ainsworth, and Chad Oglesby.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers, please make donations to LA Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, LA.

The family will receive friends at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday on Monday, August 14, 2023 from 11a.m. until service time at 12noon.
