Obituary for Letha Taylor (McFall)

Letha Taylor, 61, of Roxie, passed away Monday, January 30, 2023, at her residence.

Letha McFall Taylor was born on February 15, 1961, in Brookhaven, MS to Marvin Jacob McFall and Alice Buitt McFall.

Letha graduated from Ferriday High School in 1978. This was one year earlier than her classmates. She would later attend Alcorn State University School of Nursing where she graduated in the top of her class in only 3 years as a Registered Nurse. This profession fit her perfectly. She put herself through nursing school all while raising 3 daughters, Jessica, Amanda, and Haley. Letha was driven, a hard worker, compassionate and truly enjoyed being a nurse. When she retired from nursing, she went back to school at Central Louisiana Technical College where she would learn business management and would then work at Midway Construction as an office manager.

Letha was resilient and her top priority was doing what she had to do to make sure her girls had what they needed. She took care of everyone. She was known for being an excellent caregiver and didn’t think twice about taking care of others. She did this while still working and providing for her children. Her life wasn’t easy, but she didn’t complain. She was tough and most everyone that met her loved her.

Then came her sweetheart, Wayne. She loved doing farm work with him and taking vacations. She loved going to see the mountains with him and drinking their morning coffee together. She loved working in the flowerbeds and was grateful for the many years she had with her sweetheart.

She loved visiting her grandkids in Arkansas and playing with her great nephews. They brought her so much joy and watching them grow would bring a smile to her face.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Randy Taylor, and sister Lena Guthrie.

Letha is survived by her sweetheart, Wayne Smith of Roxie, MS; Daughters, Jessica Davis and husband John of El Dorado, AR, Amanda Faulkner and husband Ashley of El Dorado, AR, and Haley Kepper and wife Cory Gustafson of Tyler, TX; brother, Jack Jacob McFall and wife Rachael of Ridgecrest, LA; three grandsons Jonah, Jaxon, & Jon Tyler Davis; four granddaughters Layla, Abigail, and River Faulkner and Harper Davis as well as a niece, Destiny Butts and husband Randall of Ridgecrest, LA.

Honorary Pallbearers will be her grandson, Jon Tyler Davis and great nephews, Kaiser Edens, Riley Butts, Carson Butts, and Dean Edwards.
