Obituary for Lloyd Holland
Funeral services for Lloyd Douglas Holland, 78, of Parhams, LA will be held at Young's Funeral Home Jonesville at 2PM on Saturday, January 14th, with Brother Evan Salter officiating. Interment will follow at Heard Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Lloyd Douglas Holland was born on Thursday, January 11, 1945, in Ferriday, LA and passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2023, at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia, La. He was a lifelong resident of Parhams, LA. He grew up farming with his daddy and 2 brothers. Lloyd married his high school sweetheart, Karen Sue Forman, on November 15, 1964. Sue worked hard beside Lloyd on the farm and later in the family’s flying business. He began flying in 1975. He then began crop dusting with his brother Owen in 1976. Their brother Wayne joined them four years later. Lloyd spent a total of over 30,000 hours flying, and not only was able to crop dust in the Parhams area, but also in Arkansas, Idaho, Iowa, Mississippi, and Louisiana. Lloyd was baptized as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses on May 20, 1967. He was a third-generation servant of Jehovah, with his grandfather learning the truth in the 1930’s. He served as an elder in the Jena and Jonesville congregations for 12 years. He had the privilege of serving over the kitchen at circuit assemblies for a number of years. He enjoyed this, as he had a love for cooking.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 53 years, Karen Sue Holland, parents, Hilton and Verba Lee Holland and his brother, Owen Holland.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Charla Mophett (Greg) of Natchez, MS, and Sonja Leigh Spann (Hank) of Jonesville, LA; granddaughters Rachel Pecanty of Jonesville, LA, and Morgan Blank of Monterey, LA; grandson, Cullen Mophett, of Natchez, MS; granddaughter, Braylen Mophett of Natchez, MS; brother, Wayne Holland (Delores) of Jonesville, LA; and sister, Jan Forman (Mike) of Jonesville, LA; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Cullen Mophett, Wayne Holland, Jr, Jason Holland, Chris Forman, Bill Holland, Ashton Holland, Payton Holland, and Kaine Forman.
Honorary Pallbearers are Jared Holland, Zack Forman, Connor Holland, Liam Salter, Sawyer Holland, William Holland and Jace Holland.
