Graveside services will be held at Memory Gardens, Garden of Faith, in Hope, AR, on Sunday, January 24, 2021 at 2PM , under the direction of Young's Funeral Home - Vidalia.

Lynda Tate was born on Thursday, July 17, 1947 in Minden, LA, to Jewell Waldo "JW" and Theresa Belle "Terry" Secrest and departed from this life on Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Merit Health Natchez following complications from bypass surgery. She was a resident of Vidalia and a member of Vidalia Church of Christ.
She held many positions over the years as a medical and legal secretary in Hope, AR and finished her tenure in Arkansas as a secretary for Hope Brick Works when Don decided to move the family to Louisiana to become a minister. During their time in Homer, LA, she worked for Rose-Neath funeral home. Once they moved to the Ferriday/Vidalia area, she became a Deputy Clerk of Court for Concordia Parish and retired from there in 2016. After her retirement, Lynda and Don got bit by the "junking bug" and have several vintage vendor booths in several locations across Louisiana.

Lynda enjoyed many things over the years. Whether it was playing dominos or Rook with her buddies in Homer or hosting their lifelong friends twice a year to either watch her beloved Razorbacks or to eat out and enjoy each other's company, or organizing all the "social events" for her dear Christian family at their congregation, she tried her best to give it her all.

Her family will each have special memories to cherish, like her 10pm calls with Leslee every night, monthly junking trips with Donna (and occasionally Hannah or Kadi tagging along), laughing, rolling her eyes, and sometimes even fussing with and at Dale, Edward, and her sister, Barbara, baking Addison her favorite pineapple cake, and cutting up and joking with Jordan, Michael, and Jaxon. She will surely be missed by all, but none like her constant companion of over 53 years, Don. There is comfort in knowing she is finally where she strived to be all along.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Don W Tate of Vidalia, LA, Daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Dale Sindle of Springhill, LA and Leslee and Edward Rowland of Saltillo, MS. Grandchildren Megan (Michael) Colvin of Springhill, LA, Jordan Sindle of Springhill, LA, and Hannah Rowland of Saltillo. MS, great-grandchildren Addison, Kadi, and Jaxon Colvin of Springhill, LA, sister Barbara Ward, nephew Jason (Bethany) Ward and great-nephew, Colton Ward, all of Montrose, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents and great-grandson, Payson Colvin.

Pallbearers will be members of her beloved church family: Robert Fair, James Foster, Chuck Fuqua, Carl Fuqua, James Heckard, James Jordan and Albert Smith.

The family will received friends at Vidalia Church of Christ from 9:00 AM til 10:00 AM, Saturday, January 23, 2021. To leave an online condolense for the family please visit www.youngsfh.com.
