Obituary for Martha Walston
Funeral services for Martha Pitfield Walston, 63 of Sicily Island, LA will be held at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church on Thursday, January 12, 2023 at 11AM with Rev. Joel Ford, Rev. Claude Chaney, and Rev. Todd Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park Cemetery, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Martha was born on Monday, February 2, 1959 in New Orleans, LA and gained her wings on Sunday, January 8, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She had the biggest smile that would light up a room, and a sense of humor to go along with it. Martha was the absolute sweetest soul you could ever meet; if she knew you, she loved you, and if you knew her you loved her! The family and the community lost an amazing woman and it will never be the same. She adored her family, and her grandkids were her world. Martha was a loving wife, mother, Mimi, sister, aunt, friend, and so much more. Martha will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
She is reunited with her parents, Howard Pitfield and Dorothy Untereiner Pitfield; sister, Patricia Henry; brother, Howard Pitfield; sister, Lea Andrews; and infant brother, Michael Pitfield.
Those left to cherish Martha's memories are her husband of 43 years, Larry Walston, Sr. of Sicily Island, LA; daughter, Amanda Brazell & her husband Matthew of Jonesville, LA; son, Larry Walston, Jr. & his wife Pastelle of Grovetown, GA; grandsons, Avery Brazell and Matthew Tucker Brazell both of Jonesville, LA, Nigel Henry, Nathan Walston, and Julian Walston of Grovetown, GA; granddaughters, Kayleigh Brazell of Jonesville, LA and Serenity Walston of Grovetown, GA; brothers, Wayne Pitfield & his wife Becky, David Pitfield & his wife Debbie, Oliver Pitfield & his wife Mona, and James Pitfield; sisters, Dorothy Treadaway and Norma Henry; sisters-in-law, Grace Rodriguez & her husband Johnny and Patsy Medina & her husband Tony; brother-in-law, Lester Andrews and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Those honoring Martha as pallbearers are JM Blaney, Clayton Ray Netherland, Luke Lee, Randy Stockman, Justin Grant, Trey Peck, Paul Jackson, and Garrett Walston.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Pitfield, Wayne Pitfield, David Pitfield, Oliver Pitfield, J.C. Tolbert, Wade Brown, and Jeff Pentecost.
The family will receive friends at Sandy Lake Pentecostal Church on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 from 5PM until 9PM.
