Mrs. Michelle Serene Gordon died in the home of her daughter, Mrs. Athena Kelly Bagbey, in Ferriday, Louisiana, on Wednesday, December 29th, 2021. The cause of death was natural causes.
Born on February 19th,1957, in Reno, Nevada, later adopted at age 8, she lived and grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada. She spent a large portion of her life in Georgia, yet moved often in her later years to be close to those she loved, before settling in her final days in Ferriday, Louisiana. She devoted her life to raising her family. Her volunteer work included directing her children and friends in variety show performances at the Child Haven Home/Organization in Las Vegas,Nevada.
Michelle was a former English major, lifetime learner, and lover of all forms of art. She was a lifelong Trekkie. A self-proclaimed city girl who had a great love and appreciation of nature and horses, and a respect for life similar to that of the Indigenous Americans, who's culture she immensely respected.
Michelle, who,in a fashion all her own, married herself and in doing so died at the same time as her beloved spouse.
Survived by daughters: Alexis Marie-Dori Diaz, Athena Michel Kelly Bagbey, Rachel Lorraine Kelly Brooks, Terra Zola Valentine, and adopted son David Mathew Johnson. Son in laws: Thomas Larry Bagbey Jr., John Brooks, and Wolf Layne Statts. Grandchildren: Ashely Nichole Diaz, Haley Jane Bagbey, Eric Andrew Diaz, Rinoa Gale Chance, Simon Ben David Kelly, Shayne Ashton Findley, Aiden Cain Brooks, Nikolai Binx Statts.
Preceded in death by Father Alexander David, Mother Marie Ann Kipness David, and her beloved Aunt Dora.
