Funeral services for Morris "Mike" Elmore Sanders, 73, of Vidalia, LA will be held at Vidalia First Baptist Church on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 11AM with Bro. Brad Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Natchez, MS, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

The family will receive friends at Ridgecrest Baptist Church on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 5PM until 8PM and at Vidalia First Baptist Church on Friday, April 12, 2024 from 10AM until service time at 11AM.

Mike was born on Friday, October 20, 1950 in Memphis, TN and passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, April 8, 2024 surrounded by family. He enjoyed the outdoors from hunting, catching white perch, welding, and building stuff. Most importantly, Mike loved watching his kids and grandkids play baseball and softball. Any time spent around his family, is what he loved and enjoyed more than anything.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Morris Earl Sanders and Mary Myers Sanders; daughter-in-law, Elisha Sanders; grandsons, Mason Sanders and Matthew Sanders; sister, Merle Mitchell; and father-in-law, Roy Thompson.

Those left behind to cherish Mike's memories are his wife, Chris Sanders of Vidalia, LA; sons, Michael Sanders of Como, MS, Mark Sanders & his wife Misty of Wesson, MS, and Doug Holzhauer of Woodlawn, TN; daughter, Mary Cook & her husband Ryley of Clarksville, TN; mother-in-law, Jean Thompson of Vidalia, LA; grandsons, Nash Sanders & his fianceé Leah Stevens and Randell Cook; granddaughters, Morghan Bazaldua & her husband Erik, Kaleigh Mack & her husband Logan, Maddie Pugh & her fiancé Ethan Fitzgerald, Mallory Sanders, and Madelyn Sanders; and great-grandson, Matthew Sanders.

Those honoring Mike as pallbearers are Brad Smith, Troy Thompson, Lee Jones, Mac Britt, Nash Sanders, and Wesley Douglas.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy Martin, Milford Herman, and Billy Wilson.
