Funeral services for Patsy Jane Gillespie Smith, 75, of Ferriday, LA will be held at Young's Funeral Home in Ferriday on Friday, December 3, 2021 at 11AM with Bro. Glen Harrigill officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Park in Sicily Island, LA, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Patsy Smith was born on Sunday, December 9, 1945 in Ferriday, LA to Marion and H.H. Gillespie. She left this world on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 to join her Lord and Savior.
In 1968 she married James Smith, they had many wonderful years together and were blessed with two children, Rhonda and Scott. She was a soft spoken, kind hearted, Christian lady known as Mawmaw Patsy to everyone. She enjoyed afternoon coffee with her family Willie, Quavis, Florence, and Eugene.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Marion Castle Gillespie and H.H. Gillespie and sister, Martha Thomas.
Patsy leaves behind her husband of 53 years, James Smith; daughter, Rhonda Smith Case & her husband Eric; son, Scott Smith & his wife Rachell; granddaughter, Emily Smith; two grandsons, Nathan Smith and Noah Case & his fiance' LeeAnn; and great-granddaughter, Willow Case. She also leaves behind brothers, sisters, in-laws, nieces, nephews, and so many other loved ones.
Those honoring Mrs. Patsy as pallbearers will be Gary Thompson, Trey King, Jewel Burr, Ronnie Owens, Davey Delhoste, and Cody Manley.
