Graveside services for Lydia Rachel Greer, 79 of Ferriday, LA will be held at Town of Woodworth cemetery at 11AM on Saturday, April 13, 2024 with Bro. Lloyd Bye officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.
Rachel was born on Thursday, December 14, 1944 in Ferriday, LA. and passed away Thursday, April 11, 2024 at her home. Her life was a testament to the beauty of simplicity and the richness of family bonds. As a dedicated homemaker, she poured her heart into creating a warm and nurturing environment for her loved ones. Her tight-knit circle cherished her unwavering love and support. Rachel's passion for music, especially her exceptional piano playing, all by ear, brought joy to those around her. A connoisseur of coffee and a vigilant observer of the neighborhood, she found comfort in the simple pleasures of life. Rachel's legacy of love, warmth, and quiet strength will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Floy Delhoste, husband, Harry "Pop" Greer, and her brother, Gerald "Bubba" Delhoste.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, BJ Carlin and wife, Marilyn, of Woodworth, LA, David Sikes and wife, Sasha, of Woodworth, LA; 7 grandchild, Justin Carlin and wife, Lacey, of Poland, LA, Jessica Williamson of Delhi, LA, Jarred Carlin and Erin Manuel of Indianapolis, IN, Tyler Carlin and wife, Karah, of Great Falls, MT, Kristen Bolen and husband, AJ, of Pineville, LA, Brock Sikes of Jonesville, LA, Brooke Guidry and husband, Dustin, of Lafayette, LA; and her life partner, who helped take fantastic care of Rachel until it was her time to go home, Roy Powell. The Family would like to extend a very special thank to Inhabit Hospice and their staff for all of the care and love they showed Rachel over the many months they were together.
