Memorial services for Raymond William Nicholson, 73 of Jonesville,LA will be held at Nolley Methodist Church in Jena, LA on Monday, April 12, 2021 at 11:00 AM with Bro. Truman Staggs officiating under the direction of Young's Funeral Home of Jonesville.

Raymond Nicholson was born on Sunday, March 07, 1948 in Ferriday, LA. and passed away Saturday, April 10, 2021 in Jonesville, LA. He was a resident of Jonesville and a member of Nolley Methodist Church in Jena, LA. Raymond retired after 40 years of Teaching and Coaching form the Catahoula Parish School System.

He is preceded in death by
Parents- Mary Kendrick and Sherrard Nicholson
4 Brothers and 2 Sisters

He is survived by
Wife- Dianne Scott Nicholson of Jonesville, LA
Daughter- Jennifer and her husband Robert Kinberger of Alexandria, LA
Son- Nick Nicholson and his wife Cari Ann of Manifest, LA
Son- Micah Nicholson and his wife Mary Beth of Natchitoches, LA
Daughter- Laura Bradley of Vicksburg, MS
Son- William Atkins and Deidra of Jonesville, LA
Daughter- Elizabeth McGlothin and her husband Glen of Jonesville, LA
Daughter- Amanda Owens and her husband Scott of Oak Grove, LA
Daughter- Rachel Mulvihill and her husband Denis of Vidalia, LA
Daughter- Jessica Otwell and her husband Chad of Jena, LA
4 Brothers- Tom Frith, Butch Frith, Charlie Hodges and Robin Peoples.
5 Sisters- Ann Marchese, Connie Sue Harris, Odessa Freeman, Deadrah Johnson and Mary Nicholson Williams
Loving companion- Brees

He is also survived by 20 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren

Coach was always watching out for us. One day I ran passed his office crying and into bathroom, he had one of the girls check on me. I told them I was okay but my pawpaw had died. When I came out he was at the corner hall and nodded his head as to say it'll be okay. I will never forget it. That was the day I realized teachers were there for us. God Bless

I remember Raymond growing up with Lois, Micah, Laura
We had fish frys, BBQs and pony rides at The Farm with the Blaney clan. There was so much fun and happy times. Raymond was the understated and quiet man but had so much substance and subtle compassion. He will be sorely missed.

Raymond was a wonderful father. Always smiling and at Blaney gatherings with the children. Always respected him as cousin. Raymond will be missed. Always love
