Obituary for Richie (Turkey) Barrett
A Celebration of Life service for Richard "Richie" Loughton Barrett, III, 47, of Acme, LA will be Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at Young's Funeral Home-Ferriday at 1 p.m. with Denny Braswell officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the service begins.
Richie Loughton Barrett, III was born on Thursday, May 1, 1975 in Natchez, MS. and passed away Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans surrounded by his family. Richie used every opportunity to share Gods word and bring people to the Lord. He was an avid outdoorsman, loved fishing, duck hunting, spending time with family and friends, he loved cheering for ACCS Rebels and LSU Tigers. He loved his family.
Richie was preceded in death by his dad, Richard "Dickie" Barrett, Jr., grandparents, Mattie Bryan Barrett and Richard Loughton Barrett, Sr., grandfather, Ben Wallace, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Wayne Rushing, Sr. and Patricia Rushing.
Richie is survived by his wife of 25 years, Melissa Barrett, daughters, Gretchen Breaux, Mattie Barrett and son, Loughton Barrett; two granddaughters Paisley Lucas and Kollins Wallace; mother, Deb Barrett; grandmother, Rose Marie Wallace; sister, Shiela Lillie and her husband Dabo Lillie; neices, Tiffany Lillie and Taylor Lillie Pourciau; nephew, Trey Lillie; aunts, Linda Peek, Sandy Burget, Julie "Duke" Edwards, Paula Keith and Peggy Travis, aunt and uncle, Diane and Wayne Branton, and aunt and uncle, Pam and Robert Wimberly.
Honorary Pallbearers are Trevor McDonald, Raymond Murray, Dabo Lillie, Trey Lillie, Chris Davis,Cody Davis, Rick Keith, Aaron Smith, and Danny Landers.
