Graveside service for Shirley Mount Smith, 83, of Jonesville, LA will be held at Smith Family Cemetery in Jonesville, LA on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at 2PM with Bro. Todd Whittington officiating, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home - Jonesville.
Shirley was born on Saturday, September 04, 1937 in Jonesville, LA and passed away Friday, January 22, 2021 in Jonesville, LA. She was a member of Jonesville First Baptist Church. Shirley worked for Piggly Wiggly as Clerk Manager, medical transportation, and as a caretaker and sitter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Marion Smith; parents, Whitlock Cross Mount and Leola Burley Mount; two daughters, Gloria Smith Otwell and Rhonda Smith Blackwell, son, Michael Wayne Smith; three sisters, Christine Marie Griffin, Velda Mae Marshall, and Margaret Bernice Carter; and a brother, William Darnell Mount.
Shirley leaves behind her daughter, Carolyn Smith Beatty & her husband Gerry of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Carol Mount Prudhomme & her husband Robert of Jonesville, LA; eight grandchildren, Tori Shaw, Trey Hinson & his wife Bambi, Tabitha Hinson & Myles McMillen, Whitney Council & her husband Van, Shea Blackwell, Grant Michael Smith, Ashley Perdew & her husband Ryan, and Seth Beatty; and eight great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Pallbearers will be Gerry Beatty, Seth Beatty, Grant Michael Smith, Myles McMillen, Trey Hinson, and Chance Shaw.
