Obituary for Virgil Hoggatt

Funeral services for Virgil Hardy Hoggatt, 95, of Vidalia, LA will be held at Vidalia First Baptist Church on Thursday, March 28, 2024 at 10AM with Bro. Glenn Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at South Central Baptist Church Cemetery in Wisner, LA, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Virgil was born on Thursday, February 7, 1929 in Wisner, LA and passed away Monday, March 25, 2024 at his home surrounded by loved ones. He proudly served our country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. Virgil worked many years at Bellsouth and was the owner of the Ranch House in Vidalia for 61 years.

He is reunited with his wife, Barbara "Bobbi" Hoggatt; daughter, Sue Forman; parents, Lishie Belle Humble Hoggatt and Wilton R. Hoggatt; sisters, Nannie Lou Kenner, Maggie Orrean Mason, and Alishia Belle Cascio; and brothers, Wilton Earnest Hoggatt and Samuel Chase Hoggatt.

Those left behind to cherish Virgil's memories are his sons, Mike Hoggatt & his wife Shirley of Vidalia, LA and Randy Hoggatt & his wife Tammy of Vidalia, LA; grandchildren, Lee Hoggatt & his wife Jessica, Kit Bynog & her husband Joey, and Trisha Seawright; great-grandchildren, Austin Hoggatt, Kinsley Hoggatt, Lauren Bailee Hoggatt, Cade Cox, Caleb Bynog, Sophie Bynog, Kinsie Rabalais, and Katherine Rabalais; brother, Raymond Lee Hoggett, Sr., and a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

Those honoring Virgil as pallbearers are Mike Hoggatt, Randy Hoggatt, Lee Hoggatt, Joey Bynog, David Seawright, and Randy Roberts.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bennie Byargeon, Roger Moore, Pete Cantu, Walter Brown, Phillip Carothers, Jackie Sojourner, Archie Wisner, Doug Arnold, Mike Forman, and Tam Winston.

The Hoggatt family would like to express their thanks and gratitude to all of the Ranch House customers. Mr. Virgil loved serving his customers for so many years. He had so many great memories of each customer and friend that he made at The Ranch House. We are also grateful to you all for giving our father your business and your friendship.

The family would also like to send a special thanks to Enhabit Hospice and Tucker Kifer NP for their love and support during a difficult time as well as the sitters that have been there for them the last few weeks.

The family will receive friends at Vidalia First Baptist Church on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 9AM until service time at 10AM.
