Obituary for Walter Graves

Memorial service for Walter Lee Graves, 75, of Monterey, LA will be held at a later date, under the direction of Young's Funeral Home.

Walter was born on Thursday, August 09, 1945 in Childress, TX and passed away Tuesday, March 02, 2021 at his residence. He was owner and operator of SVS Cotton where he was an early pioneer in computerization of the Cotton Industry. Walter was a loving companion, father, grandfather, uncle, brother, and friend.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter Chelsey Graves and Modean Hunt Graves; three brothers, Helmer Graves, Calvin Graves, and Roy Graves; and brother-in-law, Mitchell Freeman.

Walter leaves behind his life companion, Laura P. Bole of Monterey, LA; son, David Graves & his wife Tammy of Sugar Land, TX; two daughters, Deidra Stephens & her husband Brian of Round Rock, TX and Fran Owen & her husband Christopher of Floral Park, NY; eight grandchildren, Harrison and Hunter Graves, Avery and Zander Stephens, and Kaitlin, Sarah, Amanda, and Thomas Owen; sister, Donna Haire & her husband Freddie of Sunray, TX; brother, John Graves & his wife Marcy of Ransom Canyon, TX; brother, Dale Graves of Sunray, TX; sister, Etta Freeman of League City, TX; and sister-in-law, Betty Graves of Montague, TX. He leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
